PASTOR BYrON AND JENNY-LYN

HEAD PASTOR & ELDER

Pastor Byron has been serving as our Senior Pastor since March 2023. Originally from the beautiful town of Stellenbosch near Cape Town, South Africa, Pastor Byron brings a touch of South African warmth and wisdom to his role as Senior Pastor at Waypoint Christian Church. With a passion for disciple-making and over 20 years of experience using the 4 Chair Model, he loves guiding others on their spiritual journeys to continue the work of Jesus. Whether he's in small groups, sharing a laugh over a braai, or struggling to keep up with others on a bike ride, Pastor Byron values genuine connections and everyday moments. His leadership is rooted in the idea of “Focus on a few for the sake of the many,” aiming to make a big impact through meaningful relationships. Pastor Byron enjoys life with his wife, Jenny-Lyn—his best friend and ministry partner—and their two children, Luke and Jessie, who seem to grow up way too quickly.

Before moving to Landstuhl, Germany, Richard and his wife Kimberly lived in Sigonella, Italy. They have three awesome children. Richard currently serves as the principal at Smith Elementary School.

Carter and his wife Nova-Dawn, along with our three children, Ephraim, Victoria and Killian, have been members of Waypoint for about a year now. We have lived in Germany for almost five years. We are enjoying the pace of life that Germany offers and have been blessed to serve this growing and healthy body of believers. He grew up in church but had difficulties understanding and trusting the things he was learning. He did not come to his own faith in Christ until adulthood. Since then, it has not been easy but it has all been worth it. "I love God and I love people. I am so grateful to be in this place, for this season, for His purpose!"

Bob and Shannon Miner

Life group Leader

Bob Miner was blessed to be born in a small town in Western New York to loving Christian parents. He was raised to love animals, the outdoors and, after being led to Christ at a young age by his brother, Jesus. He attended Paul Smith’s College after high school and majored in outdoor recreation leadership. After several years guiding and ranching in Montana, he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 2006 and has since served his country as a Survival, Evasion, Resistance & Escape Specialist. In 2021 he, after much waiting and praying, met the love of his life, Shannon, while skydiving in Eastern Washington state. She is a native of western Washington and attended Biola University and majored in Kinesiology and minored in Biblical Studies. They married in 2022 and are daily seeking God’s calling for their family and life’s ministry. Bob’s passion in ministry is prayer and his life verse is Psalm 19:14.
